Biografia del regista
Daniel Murtha è nato a Londra 1984. Dopo aver lavorato come produttore video e compositore si è specializzato nella realizzazione di documentari animati e “live action” film. Daniel ha incontrato Adam Smith, il co-sceneggiatore di Open Plan, ad una conferenza sull’identità maschile ed entrambi condividono l’interesse per la teoria e la politica queer e di genere. Open Plan è anche il primo corto diretto da Daniel dopo essersi laureato in Graphic Design all’University of the Arts di Londra.
Giles, Jamie and Kevin are viewing a one-bedroom flat and deciding whether to move in together. Their relationship is atypical, but not half as messy as their estate agent’s.
Director’s biography
Daniel Murtha was born in London in 1984. After years working as a video producer and composer, he settled into commercial animation before finding a niche in animated documentary and live action narrative film. Daniel met Open Plan’s co-writer Adam Smith at a meeting about masculine identity, and both share interests in gender and queer theory and politics. Open Plan is a product of that shared interest, and is the first short that Daniel has directed since graduating from University of the Arts, London with a degree in graphic design.
