Noam, un giovane transgender israeliano, è nervoso ed eccitato perchè dopo molto anni incontrerà di nuovo il suo amico Natan. La madre Louise, presso la quale Noam ha abitato negli ultimi sei mesi, ha deciso di fare una festa a casa alla quale Noam invita Natan. Ma la situazione si complica quando i tentativi di Noam di riavvicinarsi al suo amico sono messi a repentaglio dal comportamento inappropriato di Louise.
Biografia della regista
Federica Gianni e’ una scrittrice e regista italiana che lavora a New York dal 2009, dove si sta specializzando in regia e sceneggiatura alla Columbia University. Federica lavora a livello internazionale e fino ad oggi i suoi lavori sono stati realizzati tra New York, Parigi (alla rinomata scuola nazionale di cinema, La Femis) e Roma. Il suo film più recente, The Friend from Tel Aviv, ha vinto il Premio per Miglior Film Studente al Director’s Guild Award nella categoria femmi- nile, ed e’ stato selezionato in più di venti film festival internazionali, tra cui i prestigiosi Palm Springs International Film Festival, Frameline, Outfest e NewFest. Federica ha recentemente lavorato come assistente casting al lungometraggio Nobody’s Watching di Julia Solomonoff, professoressa alla Columbia University.
Noam, a young Israeli transgender, is nervous and excited to meet his childhood friend Natan after many years. Louise, a free spirited mom, in whose house Noam has been staying for the last six months, decides to throw a party at her place when her kid leaves for the weekend. Noam invites Natan to the party but things get messy when Noam’s tender attempts to reconnect with his friend are jeopardized by Louise’ inappropriate behavior.
Director’s biography
Federica Gianni is an Italian screenwriter and director based in New York and an MFA candidate at Columbia University, School of the Arts, Film Division.
Before coming to New York Federica got her degree in Literature & Philosophy in Rome. In New York she has worked in the film industry on a number of projects from features to shorts, and in the fashion world.
Federica has directed three short films, which have played at a number of international film festivals. In the summer she will participate in a directing workshop at the prestigious film school, La Femis, in Paris.
